Well, there's no sense really in buying a house that is districted to Panther Creek right now because chances are it will be redistricted to another school in the near future... hopefully not in the next 2 years, but it's possible. We live in Apex right now and my daughter just got redistricted to Panther Creek from Apex because she will be a freshman she will have to go (if we don't move to NY before the school year starts) there, but my son will be a senior at Apex High. I believe the Panther Creek School district is scattered all around; All the way in places like North Raleigh, and then down here in Apex.

I live about 12 miles from Asheville. Four weeks ago some longtime friends visited from Raleigh. They were ga-ga about our local nightlife here. I guess this kind of cafe scene with street preformers, outdoor cafes etc is not the norm for urban NC. I guess Chapel Hill NC might be the closest comparrison.

Relocating To Raleigh
Hello,
I would like to relocate to Raleigh, NC sometime next year. I wanted to know it is better to relocate without a job or wait to get a job and relocate. I have tried to relocate once before to Florida by looking for a job first, but it is difficult to interview when you are not in Florida. Relocating to NC is something I would like to do next year, but I am not sure if it is easier to look for a job online or just wait to come down to Raleigh, NC. I have a brother that lives in Raleigh NC and it seems to be a nice city to live in. If anyone has advice on relocating and the best tatic, I would appreciate any info offered.
Thanks
An

Relocating to NC
I am from NC. I lived 30 min. from Gastonia. It is a nice place. If I were you I would chose Gastonia, Ashboro, or Raleigh. They all have good schools and things for kids to do. Also gastonia is a neighbor to Charlotte which has alot. My friend moved to Apex. which is outside of Raleigh She likes it there. It is alittle out of the big scene, but close enough to work in the City. I hope this helps you.

Adu - what line of work are you in? Depending upon the size of the company, some may even bring you out to interview. (My husband's company did that when we relocated from FL.) Would you stay with your brother while you job-hunted? Where are you relocating from? If you need any information about the Raleigh area, please pm me for specifics - I'd be happy to help!

I really want to move to the Raleigh metro area something close to the bus line. I will be entering my 5th decade in life. How is the job market if you don't have a degree. Being 50 the job market can be tough. Any good companies that appreciate the older worker. Input please

Relocating also.
I have heard a lot of good things about the Triangle area and Carey and Apex especially. I was interested in relocating to Fayetteville but wonder how it is up there with all the military personnel. Anyone from the Fayetteville area? How far is Fayetteville from the Triangel area? I have three kids, so I am interested in quality schools as well as culture and entertainment options. Any suggestions?

Rosalie, I think, like any other city, it all depends on what type of career you are seeking and what skills you bring to the table. And if you're lacking, it's never too late to develop some new ones. Never let that stop you, either. What career/job are you interested?
