Hi all we are new here. Our house burned down awhile ago, and we are still struggleing with the ins. company still . We do own the lot free and clear, but are fresh off a chapter 7 . In the mean time, we are looking to replace our home in some way shape or form ? Not exactlly sure how or what type, except trailers, double-wides included are out of the question . We have been staying in an apartment in the mean time, and this is definately not for us . Want to put something in place as inexpensivelly as possable, but at the same time as quickly as possable ? Looking to stay under $100,000 if possable, open to ideas and suggestions ?? Want to stay under 1500 sq feet living space, and have a 1 1/2 - 2 car garage as well, Also need either a front porch or perferably a back deck of a decent size . This is all going to be coming out of our pocket in the mean time so we do have to watch our pennies.

I don't blame you in regard to trailers, but what about a modular home? I see some of them when I drive by those retailers and they look so much better than a trailer!

Example:
Cardinal Homes – Virginia Modular Homes – Modular Homes in Virginia

Sorry to hear about your home.
If modulars are of interest to you, head down 16, next to Rock Springs Elementary School, R-Anell has a factory. They have three (or four?) models set up that you can walk through.

I think there's another place on 150, right close to 16 (west-bound on 150) but I can't remember the name.

The one on 150 is crossland homes , been there also. Seems everyone wants to sell you more house than we want . Tell everyone, we want under 1800 sq. ft. they always go to the 2000 and up homes, whats up with that . The wife and I are alone noe, except for the dog, and want just enough for us. Sort of insurance that none of our 5 kids comes back home to live ?
