What are the pros and cons for Charlotte and Statesville?

Guess the word nuclear spooked me a bit.
My husband and I are going to take a trip probably this summer to both Charlotte , Statesville and Moorseville. We really can't rule anything out untill we've seen everything for ourselves. I really do appreciate all of your comments.

There is also a steam station on Lake Norman and there has never been a problem with that either. Depending on the size of house you are looking for $325K to $350K is not out of the question in the Mooresville, Troutman area. Traffic is a problem everywhere but even in rush hour traffic I make it to downtown Carlotte in a little over an hour from the Mooresville area. I make it to the University area in Charlotte in less than an hour. This is a very diverse area with excellent hospitals and wonderful people. An older house on the lake may be just what you are looking for to make it your own!

Sorry, not on the lake for 350K, unless it's a single wide or a "fishing house" or a condo or further up the river.
