Can the demographics that supported the travesty against liberty in NC that is Amendment One just die off already? Us upper 20 somethings are running things now, and we like freedom.
You mean back in old days when this thing was passed, like back in.....2012? Wait was that last year?
It passed, but just squeaked by barely at a 61 to 38 percent vote.
And the Amendment One foes outspent the pro Amendment One folks by 2 to 1 margins I think and it still passed.

The sad fact of the matter is that NC is way behind the times on this issue. There is literally no logical reason to deny an entire class of people basic human rights.

It was deliberately scheduled to be voted on during the primary election, which happen to only have Republicans primary for President, and basically no other reason besides this Amendment for any other person.
Only 34.66% of the North Carolina electorate voted for Amendment One in May, vs. 67.74% of the registered voters in November. The Republicans knew that it would have been MUCH closer if they let people vote in November, and not during just a Republican primary season.
Engaging in an exercise in semantics or just straw man pointlessness?
Well at first I thought he was stupid but now I think he might be smarter than me. What the press reported and what the fangurls believed isn't what happened. But to get credit for phoning it in deserves kudos.
In addition to Amendment 1, the NC General Statutes, Chapter 51, state:
§ 51-1. Requisites of marriage; solemnization.
A valid and sufficient marriage is created by the consent of a male and female person (sic)....
and
§ 51-1.2. Marriages between persons of the same gender not valid.
Marriages, whether created by common law, contracted, or performed outside of North Carolina, between individuals of the same gender are not valid in North Carolina. (1995 (Reg. Sess., 1996), c. 588, s. 1.)
Right. So why not at least footnote that? I'd surely be more motivated if the State codified ANY law based upon how someone thinks. I'd light the torches myself. But how about not trying to fool me?

Step one: Learn logic and the law. But that's not what this thread is about. Start a new one and I'll join you because I'd like to know what those demographics are. It shouldn't be hard to pull them from the CD the State releases every week or can be downloaded for the major counties.
I suspect it A1 will be over turned with 10 years or less, maybe 5.
Besides the joint lawsuit filed in Greensboro by the four couples but from the other legal ramifications.
From tax returns, divorce, custody, estate, and other legal issues the state usually resolves.
The main thing its a civil rights issue.
What lawsuit? And I suppose we don't need a new thread if we're comingingling. Meanwhile I hit something and my browser is working differently here. Subscribed Threads is also gone. Is that an "upgrade" or wrong button?
