Unfortunately the I-95 corridor is the worst part of NC, IMHO, but you gotta go where you gotta go.

OK, here is the plan. Visit the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Downtown Fayetteville then go to lunch near the market house at Sherefe Mediterranean Grill. Great Turkish food!

If short on time then Exit 41 Hope Mills for Fred Chasons Grandson's country buffet. All the good downhome favorites.

I think a lot of people would agree with you. There's nothing of real interest along that route.

If your stopping just for lunch it means you are just fueling up for your long drive. We always stop at Cracker Barell because for one the bathrooms are always clean and the food is quick and just good enough for a refuel stop. If you looking for gourmet food save that for when you have more time and can relax.

So, I am here in Gainesville now after a long day of Driving. I decided to stop at Bills Ellis. It was more than decent. I think I would reccommend it as well. The green beans were a little spicy, which was nice. The turkey BBQ was moist and the vinager sauce tasty. Thanks for your inputs.

Ok...long time lurker. I joined just to coment on this...The people commenting must be from out of town. Best Buffets that make you full are Fullers and Sandpipers. There are a lot of mom and pops in NC if you know where to look. I live in the DC area now and all I see is Mcdonads on every corner. The unique resteuaunts I have tried and spent quite a bit of money on in DC have been a waste.
