Moving from N. Calif...need great small to med. city recommendations
I am looking to move from Northern California with my husband and son. I am trying to decide whether to live closer to mountains or ocean. We are planning a trip in either the Spring or Fall to see the state. Can anyone recommend a great little town? How hard is it to relocate and find jobs in a smaller town?

Small towns outside of a metro area anywhere in the nation, just by their nature, have very limited economies. Where you wanting a small town with no metro influence? A small town within a metro area? Maybe a small metro? Let us know, and maybe we could help you better!

Nestled between mts and beaches
I was born and raised and still reside in the Mooresville area of North Carolina. We are about 4 hours from the beach and 2 hours from the mountains. We are 30 miles from Charlotte and have the beautiful Lake Norman in our backyard. Our economy is booming! We are called Race City USA because of the Nascar Teams in the area. I'm not exactly a Nascar fan but we offer excellent opportunites for a diversified number of interests and job related needs.

We are moving from Northern California to Monroe, NC in November. This area is about 30 minutes from Charlotte. In Monroe we are buying 5 acres, crazy how much MORE you can get in NC than CA. Good luck in your search.

Just get your fill of In-N-Out burgers before you leave California. You'll miss them once you're here.

Is it true that the In-N-Out wrappers are inscribed with Bible Verse's?

I don't know about the wrappers, but I would not doubt it. Each drink cup is inscribed with John 3:16, small, but it is there! Absolutely unheard of for CA.
I love rebbels!

this is my town
if you want a little town, Speed is your answer. population is wayyy less than 100 and everybody is great. half an hour to rocky mount and a little over an hour to raleigh or greenville, all have good job prospects for most any kind of employment. a few hours to the beach and 3 or 4 hours to the mountains. Main "thang" going on in Speed is cotton and peanut farming and you can get a whole lot of land for a little bit o'money. there's 143 acres just down the road from us going for 1650 an acre. perfect to put a nice hunting lodge or fishing lodge on or to just lease out to a farmer who wants to grow stuff! this is my town, speed nc in edgecombe county.
just beware you will have some culture shock if you come here. but we'll help you thru it.
