Talking Help Please?

My family is moving to North Carolina. (Or somewhere south, North Carolina is our top choice.) We want somwhere small but not to small. Somewhere with a population of somwhere between 1000-10,000. Somewhere were everyone knows your name. (Tacky, I know. I don't care.)

Any advice?

Can you at least narrow it down to a region (mountain/piedmont/coastal) or give us some more ideas of what you're looking for in a town other than small?

Good idea. Link to map displaying NC's regions. It should be noted that the vast bulk of NC's population and employment are located in the Piedmont Region.
