Thumbs up Fire Ant Control

I have tried two products to control fire ants on my property. First is Eliminator pest spray (found at WalMart) in concentrated form and Triazicide (made by Spectracide and available at Lowe's) in concentrated form. The Eliminator needs 3 ounces per gallon of water while the Triazicide needs only 2. I spray a circle around each mound and then soak the mound. Next day there are dead fire ants on the mound but what I am wondering is what happened to the queen? Am I wasting my time trying to control them or should I keep having the land sprayed each Spring when the termite control man renews the termite poison? Once he sprays, all insects in his way die within minutes, and since I have it done 150 feet out from all four sides that entire area remains fire ant free. What I am trying to do is maintain a good border and spray in areas where he doesn't spray. Any input would be a plus!

mm34b: Many thanks. I printed out all 7 pages and will start digesting it all soon. I should be well prepared long before Spring.
