I also don't want to argue. Just being honest about what most people think about those particular eastern NC towns.

Just curious;
What race is dark blue?

Hey guys! Good grief! Chill out! OK, there are some pretty crappy towns in NC! I know, I've lived here 52 years! But it isn't all bad! Also, as a southerner, and an heir to the south via my confederate roots, let me apologize to all the yanks for the rudeness they have encountered here! I love the south, I love my roots, I love my history......but ya'll are welcome here far as I'm concerned. Far as the civil war goes.....most rednecks don't even know why the war was fought here. I know my folks were fighting because they were drafted. No slaves....just dirt farmers trying to survive. We lost and it's over. Welcome from all over the country ya'll. We'll keep the grits warm and the sweet tea cold for ya'll!

Wow! That thing still hasn't gotten off the ground? They were developing that when I was stationed in Goldsboro back in 99-01.

It's not all bad news. Just the other day, an aerospace company started construction on a fairly large manufacturing plant in the Transpark. According to the news blurb I read, the company will initially hire about 500 people, with a few hundred more jobs added after construction is completed. There's also talk of finalizing plans for a railroad spur connecting to the Transpark. Maybe the arrival of a major aerospace company will accelerate those plans. Hopefully, these recent developments will get the ball rolling...

Default Its Official: Rocky Mount is the worst town\city in North Carolina. Its not even close

It now has possibly the worst murder rate in the whole country and the worst unemployment in the state. Its almost comical how you could mess up a once decent town like this. Thank god its not my hometown anymore. Id rather live in Durham or Fayetteville. I thought Id never say that.

It's a big melting pot. The only way I agree with Fayetteville being the "worst" is the fact that we are slacking on a "city like" enviornment. Downtown Fayetteville is renovating (and it's long overdue), so we are slowly moving with progress. Our town as a variety of people that I must say is delightful to meet on a daily basis......
Hi Ebonyeyez,

finally someone who is somekind positive about Fayetteville, cause I am going to live there one day with my future husband, I am from Europe and my fiancee lives in Fayetteville because he is in the US military, because it is going to be a big step for me I wanted to look up more information for myself so maybe you can tell me more about life overthere, even though my fiancee ofcourse tells me a lot about it.. i am just curious,

thanks ,
love without boundaries.

The drugs are trying to take over; and of course, if people are on drugs they mostly are out of work and on the streets looking for means of money. I can keep going on with more about this county , but I think I said enough. Just a reminder, there is more!

Amen!! I live in Lumberton and the drugs and gang bangers are out of control and the police are corrupt so its not like they are doing anything about it. It is a dead-end hole, and I think no matter what they bring to make it better the people here will rob you blind.......
