I am sorry that you had to experience the tornado. I can understand the feelings towards an ex and their family. And while I can understand you wanting towns (ex. Chapel Hill and Carrboro) wiped off the face of the earth I just do not agree with it. I am sorry if I was overly snappy.
Nah . your not overly snappy. I did narrow it down ta two specific locations, where my ex and her family members lived. And even then, I did say I wanted anyone hurt either, just those locations wiped off the face of the map . Although removing lazy scum wouldn't be a bad start to help out the hard working folks.
And I've experienced more than my share of tornados, since I live in Ohio's tornado alley . Not to forget everything else Mother nature has to offer, such as, blizzards, earth quakes, hurricanes, drought and lets not forget Kilauea volcanoe's eruption that started back in 1983 when I was stationed in Hawaii. I got to fly over that in a Huey Hilcopter . But they are nothing to compare to that bunch of Nimrods in Dunn and Fayetteville.

Ok, time to get off the soapbox.

Default Fayetteville nc - worst town to live in

Fayetteville, NC is ultimately the worst place you can live. Read the posts about it. It's all true -- bad schools, high crime, police corruption, prejudicial, low wages.........

To be fair, Fayetteville is also one of the few locations in the nation with currently appreciating home values, and a lot of people here have also posted favorably about areas of Fayetteville. As with many areas, satisfaction with the community may be highly dependent on where in Fayetteville one resides.

The BRAC program is also bringing 1000s of high paying civilian and military jobs to the area. This should prove to bring a lot of new investment to the area as well over the next few years, which is really quite exciting.

Check out:

BRAC RTF - Community Planning For BRAC Implementation

Why Buy In Fayetteville, NC? :: FayettevilleBRAC :: Local Information for an Informed Decision

Quote:

BRAC military base repositioning and military transformation...that's why!

BRAC is the committee that decides which military bases close and which ones remain open and how the troops are transitioned to the remaining bases. Ft Bragg is significantly benefiting from base closures elsewhere in the United States and abroad. The Military Transformation reflects the US Armed Forces changing strategies to adapt to a changing world and has resulted in base closures in some areas and a move toward Rapid Deployment operations, such as those already in place at Ft Bragg. These two key components will have an estimated $6.5 Billion economic impact on our area and in 10 years, that figure is expected to double!

Two major commands will relocate to Ft Bragg (Fayetteville):

US Army Forces (the commander to all continental US soldiers)
Reserve Command (the commander to all reserve troops)
By 2011, it is predicted that Ft Bragg will increase its staffing by up to 23,000 additional troops! Pope Air Force base, though originally slated to close, will instead retain about 3,000 troops. By 2008, there will be an estimated $241 million in building projects occurring on Ft Bragg. Ft Bragg will be annexed in the city of Fayetteville sometime in 2006. This will put our population over 200,000!

Another exciting bit of news is that the government has recently approved an Incubator for technology-based businesses that cater to the military. This incubator is expected to produce 5-6 new technologies businesses in the Fayetteville area each year.

Fayetteville has long since been one of North Carolina's best kept secrets. Cold Stone Creamery, a large ice cream franchise, opened a location in Fayetteville last year. That site now boasts the 2nd highest volume of sales, second only to the Manhattan NY location!

Final Thoughts to Consider:

Ft Bragg is the largest US army base
47,849 active military are stationed at Ft Bragg
8,142 civilians work at Ft Bragg
Total Military and Civilian Payroll of $2.3 Billion
In perspective, internationally renowned Research Triangle Park has 39,000 jobs and a payroll of $2.7 billion. There will be an estimated $1.6 Billion spent on major construction projects at Ft Bragg from 2005 through 2009. This investment far exceeds the private sector spent in any North Carolina county. These changes will boost demand for housing, consumer products and services to support the military's increased investment in the Fayetteville area community!

High Point
When we moved here 4 yrs ago was not to bad,but now becoming way to over crowded, Greensboro has its major seedy areas, Thomasville is grungy , as for the schools I can only speak for myself Davidson county Wallburg Elm or Ledford MS are horrible, if you have a child with a disability such as ADHD they ARE NOT equipped to handle anything more then the basics, These schools have failed my children that's all I know. We moved here to make a better life, Trust me I am not thrilled with our choice.

I have to disagree that Fayetteville is considered a bad town. It's very racially diverse, and has good culture. Maybe some of you just experienced a snippet of something negative, there..not sure what, but you did not get the whole experience. of what it's like there. I think it's a nice town,in my opinion. I every town has a "good quality" about it,so let's not be so negative in saying what the "worst" towns are.

STAY AWAY FROM YANCEYVILLE!!!

very rural and too country, ghetto, if you go to West Main Street and from First to Third Ave. you see what I mean. No jobs available, hardly any industry, NO WAL-MART!!!!! And lastly, it just overall sucks. I've lived there for years, and I rather live in New York in a dark alley!!!

I want to live in a place where the people are friendly, neighborly, safe, fun night life and day time activites. What do you think? I will be graduating with a 4 year degree this year and I have decided that I want get 2 year degree in something else and build off of that... so I am looking at Forsyth tech. How is it in the area of the school? Is it a good school? I want to get into the Radiology program. Thanks!
Pretty much for the same reasons, however I will not be going to school, I will be moving my mother and my two dogs down there I would like to be around more city life where there is entertainment and professional african american community. Any suggestions.
