Worst towns in North Carolina?
Hi all! Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched around and could not find a thread discussing the worst towns/areas of NC.
Where would you absolutely NOT want to live??
Thanks!

Any town where the ratio of transplants to natives is highly disproportionate. (i.e. Cary)

Personally, I avoid the high-population density areas such as Wake and Mecklenburg Counties, but your question is totally subjective. One man's trash is another man's treasure. The same applies to areas of NC.

For me, that would be Fayetteville. I've lived there and visit family there every year. It's just an ugly town, in my humble opinion, and has too many people crowding the roads for its size. A lot of the people crowding the roads are from smaller towns outside of Fayetteville since it's the biggest town in the area and has the restaurants, bars and shopping.
I also don't care for Kinston or Goldsboro. I lived in La Grange (between Kinston and Goldsboro) for almost a year and went to Kinston and Goldsboro often for work, shopping and business.

There really aren't many places in the state I wouldn't live. But the one that does come to mind is Fayetteville. I just don't find it to be attractive in any way. There has been a problem there with police corruption and the high school drop out rates are highest in the state.

You can't get more redneck, trashy, and just plain depressin' than that place.

I'd have to agree about Fayetteville. Use to visit inlaws in the millitary there and hated the feel of the area. I sort of hate answering questions like this because 99% or the time, someone from that area will read this and become offended. But I also understand wanting/needing to know this information.

At least that's a good start.

I haven't seen to much to be impressed with in Thomasville.
