We relocated three times (3 states) during my 18 year old son's learning to drive years. Because of the moving and different laws in different states, he currently holds a learner's permit from our last state. He planned to obtain a license last week here in NC, but was told by the local DMV he would be required to take a driver's ed course, regardless of his age. We checked the DMV site online and could not locate that requirement. We emailed someone at the state level, and were told the class was not required for those 18 and over. He has a job lined up for summer and needs to get his license ASAP.
