Fourteen registered offenders would be less than one-half of 1% of the population of Hudson.

Its just scary to me, my impression of Hudson was that it was a small town and those people just looked scary. I guess if you look at it that way it's sadly not that bad. But I wouldn't want any of them living on m street. I guess after all the research I did, in my mind I just saw Hudson as a perfect town to raise a family and my bubble just burst in to reality 2006.

The violent crime rate in Caldwell County is way below the state average according to the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI).

Reality check: There are sex offenders everywhere. You need to take the appropriate measures to keep your family safe no matter where you live.

I agree and possibly or better yet I did over react. I just (in my mind of minds) thought I had scoped out the perfect town in the country. Again, reality check

Exactly....there's going to be sex-offenders in every single town in this country if you think about.
Keep in mind, "sex-offender" is a very very vague term. It didn't say necessarily that they were pedo's out to get kids, did it?
From what I've understood of NC law, even minor infractions can get someone on the sex-offender list. Everything from prostitution, pimping, public nudity, sodomy (yes it's still technically illegal in NC), peeping toms, etc. In another thread I brought up the example of a married couple who got "frisky" in their tent while camping in the woods and got caught by a ranger....guess what, they're now on that list!
My point...just don't look up how many people on the list are in your town...find out WHY they're on there. There's always a good chance some of them are really harmless to you and your family.

sick trully sick, I wish there was a jail to hold all these perverts.
Raleigh Bob...I trully think it's rediculious for the couple in the tent to be tagged as sex offenders.
