You guys need to grow up...or grow a pair. Your choice.

Your response/comment provides zero "value" to the discussion. It serves no purpose, other than caressing your own fragile ego. Oddly, you seem to derive pleasure from condemning others. That is sad.

Is this still the law in NC? I've seen a lot of vehicles lately with totally blackened tint on the side and rear glass.

When I lived in MD, my company vehicle was blacked out except for the windshield and the front door glass.

Would like to do that on one of my vehicles here if it's legal.

Yes, nothing about the tint laws have changed in the last several years. Keep in mind that a vehicle on a truck chassis can have totally black tint on any window behind the driver. This includes minivans, SUVs, and even crossover cars that you wouldn't think are on a truck frame.

However, there are also a lot of illegally tinted windows out there. It's difficult for officers to enforce, because not every officer has a tint meter. I've found the inspection stations are mostly useless in NC, since many will pass anything that comes through just to get their inspection fees (unless that shop is able to fix whatever is wrong with your car, and it'll get them more money).

So, unless you have a car on a truck chassis, it's still illegal to go below 35%. You may do it anyway and not get caught for a while, but it only takes one officer looking for tint violations to catch up with you one day.
