In its 2013 HIV Surveillance Report, the Centers for Disease Control released a collection of data from state and local health departments that tracked the rate of new HIV infections across the country in 2011. Listed below are the U.S. cities and major metropolitan areas with the highest rates of new infections per capita.

And I would add . . . know your partner's status before you get involved in a sexual relationship.

HIV and AIDS are even in the SENIOR heterosexual population.

Don't assume anything. Get tested and make sure your potential partner has been tested - recently.

Doesn't help that NC and other southern states do the BARE minimum to contain this disease.
