Nothing more to it than that. I think you should take off those partisan colored glasses.

Based on history, Democrats are exactly where they need to be. Google News is your friend. Dozens of sources. And almost every single sources is comparing this midterm to last midterm. To make it apples to apples instead of Apples to Waldokitty-Trying-To-Decipher-Voter-Turnout-Him/Herself comparisons.

The only source that matters are the stats at the North Carolina Board of Elections. Everything else is just an opinion.

If you have to pick a site, then I'd go with this one.

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/

They currently project NC for Hagen.

I did not pull that one because of technical differences in the files, and the reason the 2012 one was used was to answer a specific question posed to me by another party. I did not realize that it would get a few partisans so bent out of shape. I've since modified my program to handle it to placate their nerves.

------

I ran the numbers for the 2010 election. In this election the GOP won the US Senate seat. Richard Burr successfully won re-election of this seat and was the first incumbent to do so since 1968. This was also the election where the Democrats lost their historic majorities in the NC General assembly. First time since 1870. They have not gained it back since 2010.

In other words, this is what an election looks like in mid-term when the GOP wins.

Voters 983,195
  • Turnout - 14.85% (2010 Early voting/absentee)
  • Age 65+ - 341,988 = 34.78%
  • Age 50-64 - 353,649= 35.96%
  • Age 30-49 - 221,739 = 22.55%
  • Age 18-29 - 65,820 = 6.69%
  • Female - 523,989 = 53.29%
  • Male - 459,207 = 46.7%
  • DEM - 453,341 = 46.1%
  • GOP - 356,451 = 36.25%
  • LIB - 1,037 = 0.1%
  • UNA - 172,367 = 17.53%
  • White - 750015 = 76.28%
  • Black - 204215 = 20.77%
  • Other - 28966 = 2.94%

NC State won a contest placed by Cosmopolitan Mag and the prize it is renting a party bus full of snacks and male models that will pick up students and shuttle them to the polls.

Cosmo is sending a bus with models to North Carolina to shuttle college voters to the polls - The Washington Post

Bad Choice vs Bad Choice

You guys who can only see Red VS Blue should think hard about limiting yourself to just this decision. Both candidates have been bought, paid for, and/or on the take. Very bad choice between cronyism & extremism.

National Organization for Marriage spends $100,000 in Senate race for Thom Tillis

Kay Hagan's corporatism and cronyism enriches her campaign, family

Lodge a protest vote instead.

The Bad choice is Mr Tillis. His tax changes are going to hurt the entire state(except his buddies like Mr.Pope). Lower incomes now paying more taxes, middle incomes now paying more taxes, all levels will be seeing increases in Real Estate Taxes. Pensions now being taxed with no deductions for mortgage or medical expences. Mr Tillis and his GOP friends are using the fact that they blocked all action in the Senate and then claiming the lack of legislation. The last thing they allowed through was the VA bill, only after people started dying, then tried to jump on that bandwagon like they started it.
This year I have watched as the Republicans in this area have raised taxes, raised Real Estate taxes and tried to take away peoples right to vote. They have not taken the ACA Medicaid expansion (Obamacare) and continue to leave federal tax dollars on the table, these guys are supposed to be business men.

The only cost which is not going up (2015 medical cost stays the same) is thanks to the ACA (Obamacare). I received my 2015 medical info yesterday and the plan stays the same with some additions and remains at the same level as 2010.
The more the GOP lies the further I get from ever voting for a Republican again

I feel the same way for the same reasons, including voting for them by omission by voting for a 3rd party.
