Where in this topic have I said that she wouldn't do so? Partisans, obviously are making every excuse for supporting her as does the other camp for Tillis. You still haven't addressed my point.

I've early voted. I didn't vote for either one. I've been clear about that too. I voted for Hagan in 2008. She doesn't deserve my vote again. So what you state, has no basis in reality.

It's obvious despite your earlier statements that you are a partisan voter and as such, you don't like what I have pointed out about Hagan. That's OK, you can just say it, I don't mind. I didn't expect a reasonable debate and it's not necessary to try and make it about me. I'm not on the ballot.

Well, with Thom Tillis complaining about Obamacare and how expensive it is, I think I found how he and the Republicans are going to bring the costs down!

I'm just sayin that at this point it's just smoke and mirrors. Of course partisans support "their guy/gal" - I'm not arguing that. I'm saying you unfairly called her out for avoiding Obama, her record, etc. It's just about votes now and regardless of who you may have voted for, it wasn't her. Don't expect either Hagan or Tillis to suddenly "come clean" at this point.

I've never been registered anything but GOP or I/UA. So if I guess I'm a crazy partisan, who hasn't voted yet. I'm very curious to see how this all plays out.

You sure lodged a lot of accusations and complaints towards me for someone who is "just saying".

Kay Hagen refuses to get on a stage to campaign with Obama to tell us about all they have accomplished in the last 6 years. Kay Hagen left the state when Obama came to NC earlier in the year. A year where she should be happy to campaign with the President of the USA. Yet she is happy to campaign with a President who disgraced himself in office to the point of quibbling over the definition of the word "IS" to the American people.

These are facts. There isn't anything fair or unfair about it.

My opinion of this, which you don't have to agree with, is that it shows a level of hypocrisy and contempt for the people of NC that nobody should support. She doesn't do what she says she will do, and she won't admit to what she has done. It's clear enough to me. Now you might think it is unfair of me to hold this opinion, but I gave the woman the benefit of the doubt when I voted for her in 2008. She set herself to a standard beyond that of Elizabeth Dole which she failed to meet. (by her own definition) I won't make that mistake again.

You said that people hate congress. This much is true. But they get the congress which they vote for by sending people like Hagen back to power.

The actions by Mr. Tillis and the GOP to limit voting seem to have created a problem. By ending early voting by days and cutting the Hours the early polls were open, Mr Tillis has kept the people that they are trying to attract out of the voting booth.

I spent yesterday knocking on doors, many have voted, when told that yesterday was the last day to early vote, many went over to take the last advantage. Others had planned to vote Monday, so I was able to help make new plan to vote Tuesday, I made sure that the voter knew that Mr Tillis and the GOP are trying to stop people from voting.

This midterm signals trouble for McCrory, I think. If the face of the McCrory administration, Tillis, struggled this much against Kay in a midterm. I can only imagine Cooper Being next in line for the mansion. Id be surprised if the Democrats didn't win NC for president & governor in 2016. Then NC would probably swing back to the right the next cycle like a political pendulum the next decade.

Ready for Tuesday for this to all hopefully be over.

Well..... except that none of what you said is true.

  • There has never been early voting on the Monday before the election on Tuesday. Election workers need that day to get ready.
  • Early voting time was not reduced. Election offices, by state law, were required to stay open for early voting the same # of hours as they were before.
  • Here in Mecklenburg, a new location near me was opened that wasn't open before.
  • More people voted in this early voting period, than they did in the 2010 mid term early voting period.
So while there is a lot of false rhetoric out there, there isn't any fact to it.

2016 will be competitive, but I think McCrory has political cover to distance himself from Tillis.

Tillis has ethics problems to explain, and he's associated with unpopular bills from the NCleg.

I never understood cutting the number of voting days. The GOP won a historic majority with the prior hours, they didn't need to do this and antagonize and inconvenience people. This probably backfired. There has to be some fraction of people who voted early at a time they didn't approve of, who voted against Tillis or left their ballot blank.

The stated reason for changing, not reducing, early voting, was to make it easier for people who work, to early vote. It made the local election boards stay open for longer hours each day.

Based on the statistics that I posted above, that plan seems to have worked nicely. A 22% increase is quite healthy for an off year election.
