We are looking for a farm to rent in North Carolina. We own a small dairy farm and we want to expand. We own our own equipment so it doesn't need to be a former dairy farm. Can anyone recommend any agriculture publications in NC that we can run an ad? We have posted to craigslist and want to reach more people. I appreciate anyone's feedback/advice.

Where are you looking to rent? Anywhere in NC? And how big do you need?

We are looking in the Triad area but are open to other areas as we have been looking for quite some time and haven't found anything. We are looking for at least 20 acres.

OK, maybe you should put this in the Triad section...
There are certainly plenty of farms and farmland in eastern NC, but if that's not where you need to be, there is no point in exploring that.
What area in NC, and what's your idea of a small farm? How many acre might you require?
We are open to a lot of the areas in NC but are drawn to the triad area. I'm fortunate to work from home so we are flexible. Thanks everyone for your assistance and input.

Hello
You mention there are plenty of farms and farmland in eastern, NC - can you tell me where I might be able to find them listed as available? We are open to options at this point as we haven't had much luck...
It strikes me that the above is the best place to advertise. There is a "land wanted" section mostly by people who want hunting land.
The OP's request may be a bit unusual because they basically want to rent a feedlot rather than a farm. It would have to have fences and feeding structures. There are plenty of feedlots in Duplin County, especially in Beaulaville, so I imagine some are rented out.
A relative rents out 100 acres of farmland in Wayne County, but I believe he finds his tenants by word-of-mouth. I believe they would prefer to keep it farmed rather than turn it into a feedlot.
I would also suggest that the OP start telephoning real estate agents in several counties. If they have suitable properties, I would inquire if any owners are open to a lease for the purpose of a feedlot. For example, there is a 56-acre property in Pitt County listed for sale at this site: http://www.landandfarm.com/property/...YOUNT-1756282/
You might also look for Realtors associated with the United Country franchise.
