You must be looking at a different press release than I am - just got my copy and it mentions 5.0% both here and nationally....

You can't lump the whole state into 1. You can't compare Charlotte or Raleigh to rural NC counties!. Every county is different.

You're right. The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate is 5% for both. Thanks for the correction.

Thank you very much. I went to the site, and of course, it looks beautiful. I can see why I was told I would love it, and the word "historic" certainly helps.....my area is getting to be teardown the old (and beautiful) and build the new......it really isn't "us" anymore AT ALL, except for the few old tried and true things my children and I still enjoy.

Thanks so much; I'll share what I find on there....if you don't mind!

Saturated is a fairly decent way to describe the suburban portions of the state. However, there are plenty of smaller communities throughout that are attracting new people, mainly from the Northeast and California. I lived in Morgonton, NC and loved every minute of it. The population growth and saturation you mentioned is focused in the bigger cities. But you can't really judge the whole state based on that...
