I was thinking about taking a weekend trip to Wilmington. My favorite city in N.C.. Thought I'd throw the question out there.

My second is Chapel Hill. "Blue Heaven"(Carolina Fan).

City or town?

I'd probably say Winston-Salem, although Chapel Hill and Asheville aren't too far behind.

I like the mountains-Blowing Rock/Boone and Mt Airy are my favorite places to go. I haven't been to the beaches of NC yet and I've lived in the Charlotte area for 3 years. Hopefully soon!

We live in Asheville and have enjoyed our visit to the arty town of Hillsborough.

Emerald Isle is right there. They have some nice beaches. They also host the NC Seafood Festival in October so that's worth a visit.
