looking to relocate
I am a mother of four looking to relocate as my youngest will be going off to college in a couple of years. I live in Columubus, Oh and I just cant stand the winters anymore so I looking to move to a place that it does not snow, or at least so little that driving in bad weather is not an issue.
Here's what I'm looking for in my new town;
coffee shops
neighborhood taverns
organic markets
book stores
lots of sunny days
low humidity
"B" movie theaters
nearby hiking and bike paths would be nice
safety/low crime (of course)
and of course, little/no snow
Any ideas???

Well, Greensboro comes to mind. Not really a lot of snow, no real winter compared to what you now have, also has several Universities and Colleges. U of North Carolina @ Greensboro was listed this year by Kiplingers Magazine as one of the best values in education this year, Also A&T, Guilford College, Greensboro College. Friendly people, lots of options entertainment wise, it has all the elements you put on your list (although not exactly sure what constitutes a "B" movie) also has live theatre, pro and college, many parks and coffee shops, about 250k population.

Thanks SK! I had forgotten about the Carolina Theatre doin' that "Film Noir" thing, et al. There is also a Books-a-million, and a Borders Books also. Oh yeah, libraries all over town.

Well it sounds like Chapel Hill would also be a great match for you, I am in Durham and Chapel Hill has alot of what you are seeking. Crime is lower in Chapel Hill compared to Durham, I am also retired police from Durham so this I know.Moderator cut: tos violation now and I spend alot of time in these areas... take care...
