NORTH CAROLINA (WBTV) -

A website has ranked the top ten 'most dangerous' towns in North Carolina.

OnlyInYourState.com, with the help of Home Security Shield, created a list cities in the Tar heel sate with the highest crime rates, according to the most recent FBI Uniform Crime Report

The rankings are based solely on the data publicly released each year by the FBI. The site took both violent and property crimes into account when compiling the list of North Carolina’s most dangerous cities.

No surprise here but even with these rankings I can tell you that places like Kinston and Lumberton aren't so unsafe to where one should be scared to go there. They have certain bad areas to avoid like most other cities.

You hear many crime reports out of Fayetteville and Rocky Mount on WRAL, but I know towns like Kinston and Lumberton are nothing to write home about.
