Somebody out there must know which state taxes more heavily in general and more specifically which one hits retirees harder.................??????

Generally speaking: For Taxable Year 2008 - Depending upon your filing status and your taxable income, the North Carolina tax rate ranges from 6 to 7.75%. However, some retirement annuity plans are NC income tax-free.
