I think I will start looking for a job after the holidays. I notice on the other threads a lot of people have moved to NC with a job. So I guess I will start from there. Thanks for the advice and suggestions.
I totally understand your reason for relocating from Orlando to NC. My husband & I did the same thing 12 yrs. ago from the East Coast to NC, although not to the Cities you have chosen. We researched for 2 yrs. & he relocated with employment in place with a major HI Store. Things were going well for quite a few yrs. until the Company decided that they were cutting out their Commissions for their employees. They were told 3 days in advance that their pay would no longer reflect any commissions. We, personally lost upwards $20,000/yr. in salary. We were able to maintain our lifestyle because we did not live beyond our means, many people were not able to & lost their homes & quite a few had to file for Bankruptcy.
That being said, salaries are considerably lower & except for housing & insurance, every day items, ie. food, clothing, etc. are as high as where you are living.
We have since moved back to the E. Coast where my husband was offered a very good job.
Life is a series of checks and balances. Just like everyone else on this Forum, please check out the areas that you choose to live & absolutely have jobs before you relocate. NC is a gorgeous State & I will never regret our move. We still have a beautiful home there that we rented out to people who relocated from out of State to find their Utopia.
You are most welcomed. Let us know what you decide & have a wonderful Holiday. kelsie
