You can't do that silly. That would not be 'equality'. Here in the UK we had a recent assault of a girl by a lesbian. They need 'equality' too.

I think you're right. What's interesting is the fact that it this session, and the crap bill won't help them at all.

You're so right let's let the safety of vulnerable boys and girls be sacrificed in the name of 'equality'. Pathetic.

Given the "mental prowess" of our General Assembly, they'll be ordering pecker checkers to be stationed outside of every bathroom in Charlotte and then telling everyone what wonderful job creators they are!

Most of them can't, because they've gerrymandered their districts into safety. Many don't even have opposition.

But for statewide offices, the electorate will likely be much LESS friendly to them in November than they're used to, which is why it doesn't make sense for the Lt Governor (who had one of the closest races of all statewide GOP winners last time) to be spearheading this. The Religious Right folks they are trying to appease here are a small minority in statewide elections, but meanwhile the moderates and progressives get galvanized by things like this. Of course, they've got enough tricks up their sleeve when it comes to vote tallying and poll access that they must not be worried.

I think there's a very good chance the Governor will be a one-term wonder who'll be replaced by the current AG. The Lt Governor might make a nice pool boy for Art Pope. Eventually, the changing demographics of NC will bring an end to much of the political detritus that now exists.

It cleared the House with a 84-24 vote. It now heads to the Senate.

I am a Republican and plan on running for the North Carolina House Of Representatives in the future and believe that the Charlotte City Council Non-Discrimination Ordinance wasn't the General Assembly's fight. The continuous actions taken by the Republican Party I believe will only hurt them in the future and is why I will be switching my party affiliation to Libertarian come November.

What's the long term (or even short term) effect this bill is going to have on our state?
