It's part of their plan and they've done it before. North Carolina may have two northern cities, but outside of there, it's still the south.
Alright; while I generally agree that this was a ass-backwards action by our shameful fear-mongering far-right GA and governor; this comment is on-par with their level of ignorance.

Charlotte and Raleigh are not "northern cities"; and the implication that their being "northern cities" is what makes them "more reasonable and forward thinking" is just as ridiculous as assuming that a city's non-discrimination law opens up women and children to predators and should be thus be shot down by an emergency assembly by state gov't.

Let's not forget that your "progressive" northern home-state produced Rick Santorum.

I didn't say they couldn't "go", I said it wasn't a protected right under the Constitution. They should go to the bathroom that matches their biological plumbing, not their mental view of themselves.
If a man went into a ladies room & peered over or under the door he would have been breaking the law. Barring a "monthly" accident there's nothing interesting going on in the public area of the ladies room. Even most pervs wouldn't be interested in that.

The right-wingers also went after the non-bathroom portions of the law. That must make you very proud.

If I, as a man, am not allowed to enter a woman's restroom then a man that thinks they are a woman should not be allowed to either. You may be okay with that scenario but a lot of people aren't.

The government has no business forcing people to agree with a lifestyle choice they disagree with like the Charlotte ordinance did. If a business doesn't want to perform X service for someone they don't have to. You should not be prosecuted, lose your livelihood or be threatened with death because you won't bake a cake or take pictures at a gay wedding which is where this all started.

If you disagree with that, then I eagerly await your support of legislation that allows people to carry firearms (gun ownership is a right as well as a lifestyle choice that people disagree with) anywhere in the state without restriction (government buildings, schools, fairgrounds, etc.). Currently gun owners are "discriminated" against by force of law in these places.

You really don't get the concepts of discrimination or, in the case of your guns right "analogy," false equivalency either, do you?

As a "put it on the check" leftist economic liberal I think the part of the law banning cities from enacting their own minimum wage if higher than the states's the most malicious part of the law. You know, long after gay people are generally accepted the conservatives will still fight benefits for workers tooth and nail. Note the corporate conservatives who favor gay rights but are in favor of putting the screws to the working class.

People are too centered on just the bathroom. This also has to do with locker rooms as well. I am sure women who say, "go ahead, go into the women's bathroom, there's nothing going on there anyway" would not say the same for the women's locker room.
