There are reasons Raleigh and Atlanta are on Amazon's shortlist and Charlotte is not.

A cheesy promotional video and a smaller tech workforce, albeit larger than the tech workforces of some of the other finalists. That's really about it...unless there's something else you're insinuating?

Does anyone else feel like this thread turns into a “pictures of Charlotte skyline” thread most of the time? I mean it’s pretty nice no doubt but I’m sure most of us have seen every angle about a hundred times by now...... hmmm maybe I just need a Snickers.

You've probably never seen this skyline picture taken from Mt Mitchell which is 90 miles away from Charlotte.

The closest city with a population of over one million to Charlotte & Raleigh is Philadelphia, not Atlanta, Philadelphia.

I have actually! Though surprisingly not from this thread.

Well, I can tell you from first hand experience that Winston-Salem's skyline can be seen from I-77 in Fancy Gap, VA (on a clear day). It's a cool thing to see as you're descending from the southern VA plateau. Anyway, I get your point about the Charlotte skyline photos; too much of anything is not a good thing.

Ahh yes I’ve seen that personally as well. Can’t count how many times since I was a kid visiting from MI coming down I77 that seeing that Winston skyline was a sign that we were almost there.

Yeah I mean it’s one thing when it’s a visual needed to prove a point but otherwise it just seems like the same 3 or 4 angles over and over and posted without any actual reason. But I’m probably just being a stinker. It’s been a long day. Post away Charlotte faithful! Uptown is beautiful!

I'd say Charlotte. I'm biased though because I love the Bobcats, now Hornets. I also love North Carolina. It reminds me of an affordable California and my home state of Alabama (not one city truly dominates the state).
