The "Queen City" by itself isn't big enough to carry it's own State.
Raleigh isn't (and will never be) jealous of Charlotte.
We have so many projects taking off right now.
We're not thinking about Charlotte lol
The citizens of Raleigh and the surrounding areas you like to include to make yourself seem more important are still jealous over the fact you can't shop at an IKEA store, I think it's safe to say you will always be jealous and thinking about your state's most well-known city with twice the population.

Yea...no lol
Nobody's thinking about Charlotte
You tried though..good for you
What's actually a surprise is that Raleigh isn't the dominant city in NC, given that its the state capital, home of the largest university and the largest research park. With those advantages, it should be far and away the state's dominant city. The fact that it isn't is just another testament to Charlotte.
This thread is so ridiculous. I can assure you that the vast majority of people in the Raleigh area couldn't care less about the fact we're the 2nd most populous city in the state or that we don't have an Ikea to shop at. I've never even been inside an Ikea even though I've lived in two major metros with multiple Ikea's. Who cares!
I'm sure people in Charlotte don't feel like they're missing out on anything we have in Raleigh either. I could most certainly up and relocate to Charlotte if I wanted to, but I have no desire to. I like it here, just like most people that live in Charlotte like it there. People live or move to certain areas because it suits their needs (for the most part). Why would I be jealous of an area if I had the means to up and move and live there if I so desired?
It seems like there are bunch of high school aged people making these comments.
I think I read that IKEA is going to open a store in Cary, so there you go...problem solved.
