A 20-story office tower could be heading to midtown Charlotte if a recently filed rezoning request gets approved.
Commercial real estate firm NAI Southern Real Estate has filed a rezoning petition for a 3.4-acre parcel bounded by Baldwin Avenue and Third and Fourth streets, according to the company. The rezoning would allow for up to 512,500 square feet of office space, 30,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a 240-room hotel next door.
The project would include a terrace with outdoor seating, a private boardroom on the 20th floor and a rooftop patio, according to NAI.
The site is steps away from the Lynx Gold Line streetcar system, the second phase of which is under construction now.

You could always start a "Non-Charlotte NC Development" thread. This thread is Raleigh vs Charlotte.

Right. So how is a news article on new development for Charlotte always a “vs” topic? Some users come here for the interesting discussions, and a lot of others avoid it. But if cool development news is being posted here instead of in the appropriate threads, people will likely miss it. And on the other hand for the people that want to go back and forth about the actual thread topic, may come here disappointed because none of this has anything to do with Charlotte vs Raleigh. See what I’m saying.
Everyone is just mad that Charlotte is the most successful and fun city in North Carolina. As far as events and nightlife go, Charlotte is far superior to Raleigh. Raleigh tries to pretend that Durham and Chapel Hill's nightlife is part of their territory, even though they are their own thing. Charlotte also has different vibes in its individual neighborhoods like Southend, Montford in Myers Park, Noda, and Plaza Midwood.
