You're right. I didn't think of it like that. I got ahead of myself. Apologies to all.

Disconnected from the "modern world" because they don't listen to the washed-up music of Pearl Jam and Ringo Starr?

It's not the CAUSE, but it damn sure is a SYMPTOM.

"RALEIGH
Wake County’s economic losses resulting from the controversial new law known as HB2 have quadrupled over the last seven days, according to the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau."

I think you're confusing uninformed with don't care. Actually my hope is that Justin Bieber and all the other manufactured acts from the modern era of "music" will refuse to play in NC. I would be thrilled!

Perhaps. But if so, just swap "disconnected from the modern world" to "don't care about the modern world". The message is the same... I don't want cultural fossils making the call for NC's future. That's like asking your gardener to repair your leaking heart valve... He (or she) simply isn't qualified. Which makes them very much like our current general assembly - UNQUALIFIED.

So the question is, what do you consider being progressive and why? Serious question.
