Roy Cooper washed his hands of this abomination when it was passed. My guess is that he's using Art Pope's legal team. I suspect that they wrote HB2 in the 1st place.
My thoughts as well.
Hard to believe they upped the ante on such a poor hand of cards.
McCrory has a point though. Congress passed Title VII and Title IX. So congress should decide whether it meant to protect gender identity equally with gender. We shouldn't have to rely on re-interpretations that are little more than a guess about or bypass around original intent.
Arguing that discrimination against certain people is okay seems flimsy at best.

All of which could have been avoided if people hadn't set foot down that road to begin with. The state of NC is officially on that road. How about we abandon this path before we give ourselves the opportunity to repeat the most repulsive histories of mankind. Your worried about degrees of hate and oppression rather than its elimination. That should have been your take-away from getting to know Holocaust survivors.
There you go again! Talk about shrill. NO, the state of NC is not on any such road, officially or otherwise. We are not on any road leading anywhere that you imply. To suggest that we are shows how insensitive you are to history (and how ignorant of this particular subject). Just because the legislature disagrees with you -- believe it or not -- about this point does not mean that they are Nazis. But you are right in saying all of this could have been avoided if only the moonbats in Charlotte had left well enough alone.

All of this could have been avoided if all HB2 did was nullify Charlotte's bathroom ordinance. That would continue to be an issue for discussion, sure, but when McCrory and his buddies dropped all of that other nonsense into HB2, that is when they started this whole mess.
Just when we thought that HB2 wasn't practically enforceable, along comes the Rowan-Salisbury Board of Education with an answer: allowing girls to carry pepper spray to their school bathrooms with them. What could possibly go wrong?
The board has initially indicated that they support this idea but it is up for another review sometime this month. Let's hope that they come to their senses and rescind their approval of mace.
Just consider these scenarios:
1. Girls get into a fight at school with other girls in the bathroom. No problem, I've got mace.
2. A "biological sex" student tries to follow the law while being a bearded trans man and gets maced. See, the "punishment" works on trans students even when they do follow the law.
3. Trans females either face getting maced in the girls' room or beat up in the boys' room. That sure sounds like a good choice.
4. A girl gets maced in the girls' room because she doesn't look feminine enough and presents more as a boy than girl. She isn't a trans male, nor does she want to be....she just isn't into looking feminine.
5. Kids, with all their raging hormones are armed with mace as they go about the lives after school, in malls, in parks, at McDonald's. What could possibly go wrong?
Vigilantism of our youth? What could go wrong???
I pledge allegiance to the Concept of Gender Fluidity, and to the Radicalization for which it stands, one Notion under Barack, irrational, with privacy and safety for none.
Wait you think the president makes people gay? Is this for real? . Could it be that more people are open and out about it because the stigma isn't there? No it's the president and the media. Also you are citing sources from a kid in 9th grade? Good job.
What's crazy is none of the National news stations are bringing up the real issues of this bill. The average person who isnt on this website to get up to date info on this issue still thinks this is only a restroom issue
