Again, NcCrory isn't the issue. He didn't initiate HB2, or anything else of substance. It all came from the GA. And the GA has a veto proof republican majority. It makes no difference who the governor is, the GA is running the state.

This is completely correct. Why is it so hard to understand? Seems like many of the posters here don't have a clue about how NC state government works. Until fairly recently, the Governor did not even have veto power over the legislature. The antecedent of this is abuse of power by the British Royal Governors, especially Tryon, before the American revolution. The legislature runs the show in NC, and always has.
