Here are the top 10 states in terms of job growth over the last five years, with the broad category of "professional and business services" driving most of that growth:
  1. Utah, 14.5% employment increase from 2011-2016
  2. Delaware, 13%
  3. Nevada, 13%
  4. South Carolina, 12.1%
  5. Idaho, 12.1%
  6. Colorado, 11.7%
  7. California, 11.2
  8. Arizona, 10.9%
  9. Florida, 10.8%
  10. North Carolina, 10.7%

Very nice. My two favorite states in the top ten. #9 & #10 respectively. They must be doing something right to beat out 40 other states.

How is Texas not on this list? That is very surprising. Their economy has been crazy.

I think that is recent enough to not have been much of, if not completely not, an issue in the stated report.

The actual study used Asheville's skyline as representative of NC, which was nice. States Adding (and Losing) the Most Jobs - 24/7 Wall St.

Same here. Even with the cooldown in the energy sector, I would still expect Texas to be in the top 10 (it ranked 12th).

Looking at Charlotte's data. One would argue that amidst the geopolitical turmoil, Charlotte will continue to grow exponentially.
