Not I.
For starters, I made no error. Please read my previous two posts.
Second: I did not bust you on points. But if you'd like I could boost you up a point if you prefer.

1. Thanks for the response. So, we have a lurker? I'll pull the post right now.
2. Hey, this is important stuff, so I read your posts twice. They are indicative of an error in reading the original post.
Dictionary.com offers a great read, as did Apple Annie's link.
3. I appreciate the point offer. Not trolling for points, but if it comes from the heart...
Oh, Happy New Year, too!

No error, nor misread. The dirt is in the detail.
Happy New Year to you as well!

"... it seems I've had a dramatic effect on you."
So, tell me about "dramatic." It is an adverb? I think not. It is an adjective in this sentence structure, and requires a noun.
The only verbs in this segment of the compound sentence are "seems" and "had."
I think you can make a better argument that it is weak sentence structure, since it is a somewhat passive construction, which can be vague.
If the sentence was in active form, "...it seems I've dramatically affected you," I would agree with you.

Yes, your blantant disdain for anyone who is not a "native NC'er" certainly strikes a chord.

he is going to need to spread that disdain around. there are many NY'ers and people from the northeast relocating to NC, deal with it. tell your neighbors to stop selling their land to the highest bidders, good luck. See ya soon, homey.

I know my opinion of the state shouldn't hinge on the attitude of one poster..... we have heard nothing but wonderful things about NC and I will try to keep that in the front of mind!!
 Happy New Year!!

Its looks like a bunch of little kids typing on this forum. Seriously, I know what someone means even if they misspell a word, you dont have to be a jack___ about it by pointing everything out.
I dont have disdain for people moving here. I guess I will attempt to make myself clear one last time:
The lack of planning and yes, greedy local governments and developers are more to blame than anything else. For example: I have heard stories from people from California in person and on this forum about the terrible costs of living and the illegal alien problems there. Would I want to live and raise a family in that enviroment? NO. I would probably move as soon as possible.
But you cant get mad at natives of a particular area when they get frustrated with the extreme overcrowding of schools and roads, and yes even Lake Norman itself. What has made this area so desirable, low cost of living, beautiful areas, friendly people will come and go just like California and Florida have in the past. Once nice affordable states now just the opposite. And the cycle for the constant search of greener pastures will continue, maybe it will be Mississippi or Louisiana in 10 years, who knows?
