ft bragg area, good or bad?
So its very likely that my finance and i are going to have to relocate to NC because of army detail. i have never been to ft bragg or the fayettville ( i think thats how its spelled!) area, and i was just wondering if anyone could give me some info. we are both mid 20s, not worried about it being a good place for children yet, we are holding off for a while on that! just wondering about what is there, if there is anything to do, is there any sort of body of water or beach nearby? and colleges? that sort of thing, and thanks for any info you can give me!!

We have lived in or around Bragg for 4 1/2 years and have loved it!!!
If you are looking for rental homes or homes for sale...check out buffalo lake road area. Really nice subdivisions. About 10-15 min from base. Peachtree Crossing subdivision is where we live. There is a lake, golf course just min away. Really nice!!!! If you have any questions, just let me know. I'd be glad to help ya.
I just graduated w/my bachelors. I was attending Texas A &M and in my Senior year I transferred to Fayetteville State. I wouldn't recommend that university. I graduated just fine but it isn't the best. I would try Campbell or some of the colleges you can attend through Fort Bragg.

If you come to the Harnett County area you will have access to Campbell University. It is a private college, but is very competitive. Also you would be close to the Raleigh, Cary, Apex areas for a better night live, as well as being close to NC State if that interests you.

If you are looking for a smaller town feel, with mid-sized city resources, and centrally located to the Triad/Triangle, you might also consider Sanford. We have many from the Ft. Bragg area that choose Sanford for the low cost of living and quality of life aspects. The commute is 20ish minutes, depending on where in Sanford one starts from.

Says it all.
If you like subdivisions, big box stores, and driving any place you need to go, Fayetteville is for you!

Fayetteville is home to 2 universities...Fayetteville State University and Methodist University. There is also Fayetteville Technical Community College.
