Put it this way, NC will vote Republican 99 percent of the time for president. If that isn't solid red I don't know what is

Tells me when people refer to "red states" they refer to who votes for president. NC is a very red state

Do you have a specific, NC-related point?

Or is this just an attempt to gloat cloaked as some sort of sage observation?

NC may vote Rep for the next decade and it still won't mean that the majority of people you encounter in any given day (unless you live in a VERY rural area) will be conservatives.
