Hickory,NC: ideas on apartment communities to rent from and those to stay away from?
I am wondering if anyone can give me some ideas about decent, family friendly apartment communities to rent from in Hickory,NC. I have looked into Argyle Place, The Villas at Pebble Creek and Creekside. I may not be able to view before hand and so was hoping I can get some feedback. Are there others I don't know about? Which should I stay away from? and why?

Look in southeast Hickory. Forest Hills, The Legends, these are located right across the mall. Pretty nice and new as well. I could pretty much vouch for those as nice and quiet.

Legends
The Legends is great
The school bus picks up the kid at the clubhouse.
I looked at every place in Hickory, and think they are the best
for safety, amenities, property management, etc.
The mall and restaurants are 2 minutes from here.
They were a little more money, but worth it to us.
You can pm me if you want more info.
Hope that helps!

Commuting from Hickory to Charlotte
We're very much interested in relocating to Hickory. We have looked into the developing lake community in that area. I was told the commute is one hour to Charlotte. Does anyone know exactly how long it would take with traffic to commute to Charlotte?
I understand that Hickory is a growing city however, I am concerned about employment. I'm in the dental field and am not sure of employment near Hickory.

Charlotte is 50 miles from here, 1 hour without traffic.
The key is to commute against rush hour traffic.
Not sure about the dental field, but it seems that should not be a problem.
Hickory is fairly decent sized and growing
