Nothing wrong with 95 in NC except people drive too fast!

While I agree with you that people drive too fast, I-95 through NC is a joke. It's been left behind by other states who have a much more upgraded interstate.

The problem really is that I-95 doesn't run through any major urban areas in the state - so when it comes to mobility/congestion/capacity, it's not as high of a priority as the 40 or 85 corridor. In other states, 95 goes through major cities.

I strongly disagree. I-95 is in p**s-poor shape and needs upgraded desperately. I-85 and I-40 are in much better shape for the most part.

People drive no faster on I-95 than they do on I-440. I-440 may as well be known the "Dale Earnhardt Beltine".

I routinely find that the flow of traffic on 95 approaches triple digits, especially heading up toward the VA border.

440 probably feels faster because it's one big curve around a city compared to a more-or-less straight shot through the country.

Much of I-95 needs some work. It can be a little hard on the suspension in some areas (not just NC)!

I wouldn't mind it too much if it doesn't involve putting tolls on it. I remember previous proposals where thar was the case.

I also remember watching a video on the news where they said that two exits (Pope Rd and 421 in Dunn) were too close together
