The two major political parties are very different today than they were 40-50-80 years ago. Rehashing the history of political parties may be interesting to some, but it's hardly relevant to the topic that supposed to be discussed in this thread.

The history of the parties is relevant if Democrats are accusing GOP of being like KKK members because they oppose any man being allowed to use female restrooms and locker rooms.

I note that you never expressed any problem with that baseless accusation. you also asserted that the KKK associates with the GOP and provided no evidence of it.

The only KKK person that was Congress as far as we know was Democrat Robert Byrd of WV and he remained a Democrat until his death. If a KKK racist didn't switch parties, I think it is logical to contend most racists did not. And the Democrat's basic view on economics and government has not changed since at least FDR.

i think a party has the right to defend itself from the partisan smears of a rival party.

What about the 11 states that already let transgendered individuals us the restrooms of their choice? How come we never hear of horror stories left and right in those states? Could it be there is no problem and the biggest problem is in the mind of people who supposedly support HB2 ...but harbor secret desires to accost women in ladies' rooms? It seems the NCAA and the ACC aren't the type of people who obsess over who's in the restrooms! Maybe they're run by people who have turned into mature adults!

I don't know if a person who slings around false accusations of racism should be claiming to be a 'mature adult'. You are basically engaging in defamation. No good judge would consider you a 'mature adult'.

What do you think is the reason that society has male and female restrooms? Do you oppose having male and female restrooms at all? by your own logic, it is pointless to have separate restrooms for male and female.

you've asserted GOP has repressed desires to accost women in the past on here too, another baseless and silly assertion. by your logic, if a person supports laws against rape, he secretly wants to rape women. When Lincoln opposed slavery, he must have really wanted to own slaves deep down, going with your narrative.

anyway, i'm breaking a core value of mine, never interact with a person who abuses exclamation marks. it is a pretty good policy. adios

It isn't about supporting laws against rape, it's being obsessed with them. A great example are those toe-tapping Republicans who were so outspoken against LGBT rights and were caught playing footsie in the mens' room. Maybe you should keep an eye on the hypocrites who seem to populate your side of the isle. I'm not about to check the equipment of folks going to the restroom! They can make their own decisions on their preferred rest room! And I'll refrain from replying to people who abuse logic. Perhaps you can enjoy an NCAA or ACC event that's been moved to South Carolina. Vaya con Dios, Homer!!!!

it is hilarious to me the NCAA moved the games to Greenville. To punish NC for not supporting men in female restrooms, they move the games to a metro with a conservative reputation.

SC would pass a law similar to HB2 if a city in SC tries to do a similar illegal ordinance as the one in Charlotte.

i would say the people obsessed with this issue are people who pass laws forcing private businesses to allow men into female restrooms / locker rooms. The GOP is only reacting to people pushing the issue.

If it was legal, why was the state of NC able to overturn it with HB2?
