What other states have as strong reputation for quality of life positive buzz and attractiveness.

We lack mega cities but if you're looking at it from state level we are getting lots of immigrants from the larger states like NY and Cali but a lot of NC residents aren't necessarily moving there.

Anyway, obviously LA, NYC, and Chicago will be what they are but IMO I think like Texas, Colorado, and NC could be the best places in the next decades.

What do you think?

The bigger cities (like LA, NYC, and Chicago) will do okay anywhere...
but I think the conservative politics will continue to hold the STATE's back.

Healthcare and education policies/priorities and funding at the state level in particular.

So we are sitting at 10mil and #9.

The top 4 are in a population class of their own. There is almost no way we catch them. All are also larger than us by area. I definitely see Pennsylvania and Ohio will slow down in their population growth.

Georgia only has Atlanta. So if Atlanta stumbles, we could take over.

It's just a comment the NC has maintained a really high profile lately and is noted as one of the most quickly urbanizing states and wondering if NC could be seen as one of the best states to live in.

No idea what that means, sorry.

I think NC is a great state, I was born here and choose to continue to live here. Its not perfect. Is it the best...for me it is, as far as I know. I haven't been to all 50 states to really say. Is it a "leading" state? I guess, lots of people are moving here. I don't understand what you hope to accomplish with this thread.

HB2 really took the wind of NC's sails for businesses relocating their HQs.
