Question offered a job in wilson nc

Hi,

I'm from the UK and I've been offered a job in Wilson NC.
Ive got two daughters 6 & 9 and I think this could be a good move for my family.
I want to know where would be a good area to live considering I have to commute to wilson.
My 6 year old daughter is really good at gymnastics and my wife and I like to go running and mounting biking, thought that may help!
Any help or information would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

Wilson is fairly small, but it's a nice town. There's more to do in Raleigh which could be as much as an hour to 1.5 hours commute depending on where in Raleigh you are. Knightdale is a suburb of Raleigh and closer to Wilson, slightly smaller and less expensive. Commute time less than an hour give or take.

Hi Lisauk,
I live in Clayton which I think is about 20 min. to Wilson it is a great town which growing rapidly. Riverwood Athletic has it's own gym and schools in walking distance of your home we love it here and there are plenty of kids to play with. Through out the year the community holds special events such as a triathon people from all over participate, christmas tree lighting. In the spring fun raiser for habitat for humanity which include live bands rides for the kids, vendors etc. It is a very family friendly community. I don't know much about Wilson but I can tell you Clayton is a great place to raise a young family.

I also second Clayton.

My daughter is currently enrolled at Premier Athletics, she's taking Cheerleading. They do alot of gymnastics (all floor) and I personally feel she has gotten more experience now in the 8 months of attending class then she did at a gymnastics center that she took for two years.
There is a really good gymnastics center called "Morgans Gymnastics" in both Smithfield and Garner/Clayton. You can find them through a google search.

Depending on where you are in Clayton and where the employer is in Wilson, that could be more like 30 miles/50 minutes. Zebulon is about 24-25 miles, but only ~30 minutes as it's on a main highway. Of course, all of that depends on exactly where the job is, but I thought I'd mention it!

Remember, gas prices are high and likely will stay high.

Be sure you won't be eaten alive by commuting costs when you decide where to live.

My husband currently lives in Wilson. If that is where he worked I would probably be looking to live in the Greenville area. This is just my opinion I have only been to Wilson a few times as it is a temporary move.
