We moved here from Albuquerque, NM. We're one of the few, I guess!

I voted that I came to NC from MA...specfically Cape Cod. My husband and I moved to Wilmington (NC) more than eleven years ago. It was hard to get adjusted to it here because the town we lived in on the Cape (W. Barnstable) is very tiny and had only one traffic light. Wilmington seems to have traffic lights at every corner, but we've come to love it. There is anything and everything you need within about ten miles; there are many different types of stores, great medical offerings, the international airport, and oh, what a fabulous beach...one you can actually swim in for it's heavenly in the summer with an approximate 84* water temperature. The street where we live consists of mainly "transplants" as the natives are far and few between, but the ones I've met are very warm and friendly. Though I miss certain things about MA, mostly my family, I would never go back. NC is truly Shangri-La!

Well so far with 23 votes, about 33% respondents are from the northeast.

I am native to North Carolina. I was born here and I have never been more than 50 miles from the county that I am in now, which is where I am originally from. I was only gone from that county for about 8 years.

One hint NC is over-rated is when the NC forum is the most viewed with the most posts, and that the top forum on other states is NC.

I was born in S. Dakota and moved to CA when I was 2 months old. Guess I'm pretty much a native Californian. According to your poll there are many of us relocating from CA. to NC, even more then NY but not many posts. Hmmmmm. NC is a very popular destination for many Californians. Especially the older crowd. Time to enjoy life a little!!!!
