Interesting poll.

My Mother is a NC native -- her family for generations. She met my Father during the NC Azalea Festival in 1954, fell in love, and they were married shortly after. She was on the Queen's float. He was a Marine Corps escort.

I was born in SC, moved to CA, where I lived until I was about 5. Then it was Baton Rouge, LA, while Dad went back to school. He is from New Orleans, and his parents were still there at the time. Then, we moved to Wilmington, my mother's hometown.

Until three years ago, my husband and I were still on the NC coast. He, and his family, for 100s of years, have been Wilmington, NC, natives.

I picked northeast but my state I was born in is NJ. We moved to NC in February 2006. We aren't going back. We love it here.

I think this thread would have some meaning if the OP stated where he/she is from? A blank profile isn't much to go on.
