I bet if you add Cary to the list, it'd rank pretty high!
Chapel Hill would also get a few votes, but mostly from NCSU and Duke fans. lol
And Fayetteville, from some of the comments I've read here and there, people may add some votes for.
But given the choices, I voted Charlotte. It's big, but otherwise I've never seen anything special about it. (No offense to anyone living there.)
What is up with this "when did you last beat your wife?" fallacy question??
Did someone in big bad ol' NC hurt your feelings or something?
And what city and state do you live in Rwarky?
Scotia, this certainly gave me my laugh for the morning
I too wonder about Rwarky - always asking these poll type questions that don't seem to serve any useful purpose. Unless of course Rwarky is a student and doing these as some sort of "research" for a project??

I just wander why NC is so popular these days. Plus, why does this state have no real large cities, only medium sized metros.
Plus, why does this state have no real large cities, only medium sized metros.
Our cities are larger than some other states....Idaho, Mississippi, Vermont, Alaska, Delaware, Wyoming, Montana, the Dakotas, New Hampshire, Maine, Arkansas, etc etc etc....
And the reason why is simple...it was a predominantly agricultural state up until midway the 20th century.
I don't consider any of them overrated. They don't get nearly as much hype as NYC or Boston or Philadelphia or LA, etc.
Also, it doesn't matter to me if NC has any large cities or not. I don't see why that's a big deal. I like that NC doesn't have cities as large as NYC, LA, etc.
Actually NC (especially the Raleigh area and coasts) as a good place to live is unknown to most folks although these days the word seems to be getting out there.

Charlotte is a city of about 650,000, one of the nations 20 largest and fastest growing.
Large metros are defined as having more than a million people. 52 of the nations 235 metro areas are in that catagory. Metro Charlotte (1,950,000 people in 9 counties), Metro Raleigh (1,420,000 in 6 counties), and Metro Greensboro (1,300,000 in 6 counties). 3 major metros.
What North Carolina city or cities, do you find to be overrated?
It would be best to keep these types of questions over at SSC.
