I stumbled on the "new" AM-570 radio station, being called WQDR-AM. Simulcast on FM-100.3 in the heart of Raleigh and down towards Garner. My gosh it's been a long time coming. I travel up and down the east coast -- there are more classic country music stations in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Florida, and in between than in NC...that's just wrong!
Good to know, I'll have to check it out. I like legit country as well as country rock, but the pop-country nonsense that has taken over WNCB 93.9 and WQDR-FM 94.7 is just awful.
If you haven't stumbled upon WKJO 102.3 yet, check it out. They do throw in some newer stuff, but only real country, not "Body Like A Back Road". They broadcast from Smithfield, and while I'm not sure what their signal's range is, I get clear reception in Garner. Wish we could get a few more locally-owned stations in the Triangle as a whole because the corporately owned ones sure suck. Even Curtis Media Group's stations have fallen off a lot lately.

I'll try this one out. I too am tired of the same old songs on 94.7 and 93.9. It's almost like every time i turn it on i hear Scotty McCreery singing 5 more minutes. Or Kane Brown's 100% POP song. Smh.
Classic country is basically country music that isn't written for the artists or otherwise filled with generic pop elements. Pretty much anything pre-2005 or so (at least in my opinion).
Keith Urban, Sam Hunt, Thomas Rhett, et al = pop artists with a country accent, therefore NOT COUNTRY. Wish they'd all go away and stop dumbing down what used to be a great genre.
