Pittman (R-Cabarrus) posted this as a comment on Facebook. His full response, made in reference to the Feb. 14 school shooting incident in Parkland, Florida, was “Not surprising to see the people depicted on his T-shirt. So many of these shooters turn out to be communist democrats, that I suspect they are doing these things to push for gun control so they can more easily take over the country.” That comment was deleted following much criticism.

Last year, Pittman compared Abraham Lincoln to Adolf Hitler. He's now pushing to allow school personnel to be trained to carry guns on property as a preventive measure. A legislative committee in the General Assembly, which is controlled by the Republicans, has indicated a willingness to hear more of his ideas.

If I'm not mistaken, almost all of the recent mass shooters had been taking psychotropic meds prior to going on their killing sprees, at least the ones weren't international terrorists. Many (such as the recent Florida shooter) had also been investigated by the FBI prior to carrying out their intentions. And in each case, the shootings have taken place in gun free zones.

This tells me three things: psychotropic drugs are being prescribed to the wrong people (and are probably being prescribed to too many people in the first place), the FBI is not doing its job, and that gun free zones essentially just advertise that there will be no immediate resistance to an active shooter.

I generally lean more conservative, but I don't think blaming Democrats as a whole is appropriate or accurate. Sure, there are some bad apples, but you'll find them in every group. Pittman's other point about having more armed individuals in schools might be worth a try though, because the current method clearly has some serious vulnerabilities....

This isn't a surprise considering who it's coming from:

Rather than add lots of extra commentary, if you look through his proposals, and also some of the things he (Pittman) says, they speak for themselves.

Apparently Rep. Larry hasn't seen this actual picture of the FL shooter:

Pretty sure the Fla shooter was seen in a pic with a Trump hat on.... sooo..... geez.. maybe we should be looking at the individual instead of their political party.. just sayin. I mean I feel like he was probably a Repub (the shooter) but I'm 100% sure not all want to pull off that stunt...Don't bunch them in together!
