Bojangle's is retreating a bit and will close 10 underperforming stores, and discontinue certain menu items. According to a Charlotte Observer report this past Saturday. They are seeking a new CEO and a may be subject to a takeover bid by a new holding corporation, possibly the parent investment firm over Arby's and Culver's.
Also they may slow down their expansion outside of their core markets in the Carolinas, as their brand is not as well known elsewhere as KFC or Popeyes. They will continue into Georgia and Virginia, but other states such as Florida, Alabama, and Kentucky may be on hold.
While Bojangle's remains popular in the Carolinas, Popeyes is the stronger national brand.
