We live in Holly Springs, outside Raleigh. Since I lived in Wisonsin for 20+ years, it's too hot in the summer in NC for me. I couldn't walk my pug all summer because of the heat and humidity. Our plan is to move to Maine sometime in the future. For now though, we are really enjoying the area we live in. We haven't had a chance to visit Asheville, but I've heard it's beautiful and a great place to live. Good luck with your move!

I moved to the US from Germany over 30 years ago. I lived in NY and NJ and two years ago moved to NC. The weather is great here. Not too cold and hardly any snow. There are lots of Germans here and also there is a German club in charlotte, they meet once a month.
If you would like to know more, send me an e-mail.
Rolf

Hi Mandy,

My name is Frank and I have a friend who just moved here from California. He comes first from Germany and is looking for German friends. He lives in Indian Trail NC (just outside Charlotte). If you are interested in speaking with him, let me know. He is about 70 yrs old, retired and very intelligent!
You can e-mail me at frankg@carolina.rr.com if you are interested. TKS!!

My daughter is German, she is still in Germany....... the Neunkirchen area, I wish she was with me & I would do anything to make that happen.
Myself and my wife are buying a home in the Black Mountain / Swannanoa area, it is definately like parts of southern Germany.

I hope that when the day does come she makes the trip to America, she will like it enough to stay with us and hopefully make many German / American friends.

Default Germans in NC

There certainly many in and around Charlotte. My kids are in a German Immersion program in the Charlotte (CMS) School system and have many friends who relocated from Germany.

Default German people in NC

Charlotte has a large German population. Contact the German-American Consulat here in Charlotte.
Also the Waldhorn Rest in Pineville has a large German club that meets there. They can give you all the information.
Charlotte has many companies that have German connections.
