Charlotte cheerleaders are going to have a full-blown panic attack when Wake passes Meck in the census. It's going to be rough.
"b-b-b-b-ut.....it's not fair...more land area!"
We’re having the memorial service in September! I can see the welcome to Raleigh signs now. “Welcome to Raleigh, part of the most populous county in NC” .....pressed! It’s like San Antonio bragging about being bigger than Dalllas.

Was going to let the irony slide...but nah..
You can't have it both ways.
"Club CLT" boasts about Charlotte city population being much higher than Raleigh's even though the city land area for CLT is significantly larger. THAT is your San Antonio/Dallas analogy.
CLT club hears that Wake Co is passing Meck Co in population "IT DOESN'T COUNT CUZ WAKE IS BIGGER IN LAND AREA"

I can actually see your point. I do wish Charlotte land area was smaller sometimes just to show how different the central area of Charlotte is than other areas of NC. I’m not dogging on Wake County, congrats to them. I just have to speak up when folks say that having 300+ extra miles of land has no say in the matter. cheers!

All good. Your username alone makes me appreciate your point of view more than quite a few of the Wake Co folks I know haha

As if anyone compares Charlotte and Raleigh’s city limit populations.
Charlotte’s MSA is more populated than the entire Research Triangle CSA, clearly Wake surpassing Meck isn’t saying much as it’s anchoring city and metro will never surpass that of Mecklenburg’s.

Exhibit A of previously referenced Charlottean fragility.
Yes, that 3800 population growth difference (between Meck and Wake) has NOTHING to do with Wake forest, Holly Springs, Rolesville, etc..NOTHING. Also, those extra 300 sq miles don’t matter. This guy, lol
It matters somewhat, just not nearly as much as you seem to think. Charlotte has the densest zip codes in the state and Raleigh never annexed the extra 150 square miles bordering it (and the 400,000+ people it would have brought) like Charlotte. That seems to skew how the two areas’ populations are viewed beyond actuality.
