Default Just the facts please: North Carolina metro cities

I have lived in Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro NC. I think wherever you move you go with you.

North Carolina is inexpensive to live it also is very segregated and people move here because of some top 10 best cities.

Personally these cities suck!

That is my experience not the facts.

I can’t wait to move however, am optimistic and to visit and live in a place is like night and day.

Stay where you are unless you want to return to the underground KKK and NAACP always in distress

Honestly it’s cheap which means you deal with those demographics
Stay where you are or research and talk to people who have lived here, it is also very slow. It could be for you anyone can buy a house if you work or does the bank own it.

At times I think I would like to live in NC. I think I would like to live there because of its beauty, its moderate climate and its location on the east coast. It is easy to get to both the northeast and Florida from NC. There are some things that bother me about NC though. Im not completely sure it has that lower cost of living associated with it any longer. Its cities don't seem particularly interesting and lack any real infrastructure. There is a serious lack of public transit in these cities at a time when we desperately need options to cars. There is way too much smoking and little respect in public for those that don't as far as Im concerned. Still I like the state and would like to live there, I just don't know where or if I like it more so because I hear it is so popular. Sometimes hearing places are popular and desirable can make one feel their dislikes about a place are not justified. I don't know ,I wouldn't want to change a place I don't originally come from, but Im bothered by those personal cons I mentioned about NC. All and all I think it is one of the more beautiful states and obviously will attract people in droves. Maybe thats not such a good thing though, attracting in droves until the place is overwhelmed.

My answer is a resounding 'yes.'

Perhaps, as a younger person, I would have said I longed to live other places, and while I like to travel, I still like calling NC 'home.'

I have lived all over NC and in Colorado. Rutherford County is in the Foothills of NC, has 4 distinct mild seasons and the countryside is beautiful. Rutherford County is within an hour of Charlotte and Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC. I was raised here, moved around for 20 years and settled back here 20 years ago.

No, I wouldn't. NC is nice, but I am a West Coast gal. I would move back to SoCal in a heartbeat. NorCal or Seattle would be a close second.

yes. I married someone in the Air Force and we have lived all over. As soon as he retired, he knew I wanted to come back home and we did. I don't plan on ever living in a different place again.

Hello, I am new to this forum and I am looking for any info I can get about Charlotte NC, as far Good schools for my young Children and a Good area for them to grow up in. We are planning to move there, we are in Florida and I don't want my kids to go to school here. Also for work for my husband who is in Construction, that has gone down here. He has gotten into inspecting foreclosed homes that is up right now!!! Looking into getting something like that going for us up there now. We need a change of seasons too! Looking to camp there, close to Charoltte, in our new camper we just got. So we can take our time in finding the right location for us. If anyone has any ideas I would like to hear them thanks

I wouldn't leave this state for a million dollars. I'm so proud to be a native of this state and to be honest, I have never wanted to leave it. I just want to get the heck out of the triangle.
